In the wake of yet another school shooting (this one took place Feb. 14, 2018 in southern Florida at a high school where 17 were killed) there’s been talk yet again about arming teachers as a way to stop or curtail such shootings. Colorado’s governor considered using the Apache’s Hellfire missiles from the Colorado National Guard to destroy the vehicle, but it was already bogged down inside a basement. Docheff regretted his decision.
Heemeyer was not part of the system. could this tank survive an anti-tank weapon, like a m74 law? Over the next few hours, Heemeyer systematically demolished a dozen buildings in the centre of town, including the Liberty Bank, the Sky-Hi News headquarters, the library, the town hall, and the home of the former mayor. The driver of the other bulldozer wouldn’t have had a chance against a Barrett light fifty, also known as a anti-material rifle used to take out light armored vehicles.
Marvin John Heemeyer (born in South Dakota, October 28,1951), a successful welder, owned two muffler shops named “Mountain View Muffler” in Granby and nearby Boulder, Colorado. Available at most retail stores in Grand County. He attacked the Xcel Energy building (owned by the Thompsons), destroying trucks and totaling the building in the midst of a battle against a county scraper driven by Clark Branstetter. He could see no way out and he did not want to go to jail. And later, when it was apparent that Heemeyer was using externally mounted cameras shielded by Lexan to guide the Killdozer, bullets fired at those cameras had little impact on the progress of the dozer.
The extreme cost of Heemeyer’s rampage is still being paid for, both in dollars and in emotional turmoil. Was the Virginia armored vehicle joy ride a KILLDOZER copy-cat crime? Heemeyer rammed the rear of Docheff’s vehicle. Because of the armor, guns were not effective in stopping the rampage. Cody Docheff is the owner of Mountain Park Concrete in Granby, a place that came into the international limelight when Marvin Heemeyer drove his Killdozer across town, terrorizing everyone. It’s an impressive vehicle. He fired many bullets from his semi-automatic rifle at Cody Docheff when Docheff tried to stop the assault on his concrete batch plant by using a front-end loader. Which happened to be Mr. Heemeyers main weapon. Heemeyer then went east and attacked the variety of buildings owned by the Thompson family. Funny enough, this isn’t the first kind of attack in Colorado. He managed to destroy the town’s post office, town hall, fire department building, and water department building until he was shot dead. A shot fired by a bystander after the church shooting made its way around a crease in the armor to wound Kelley before he took his own life after he wrecked his car when fleeing the scene.
The town of Granby allowed a cement plant to be located near Heemeyer’s muffler shop in 2000.
Welding himself in, Heemeyer clearly never intended to exit his bunker. Not much is known about the man, but he claimed to b… That one shot had absolutely no effect at all on the progress of the dozer and Docheff gave up the gun and ran for his front-end loader, with which he battled the dozer, also to minimal effect.
