If we're assuming that the dark world is not real, then the first stanza could be talking about falling asleep and dreaming, perhaps a nightmare. Also worth noting In my opinion, that last line, I'm with you in the dark, could be a threat if Chara said it but an encouragement if Frisk/Kris said it.
