Archived. Okay I love 'God of War' games. But the endings were among the shittiest that I have ever read, the main character is a complete tool, seriously why the hell does he just give up at the end? 39. Post When they confess what happened, Haruka collapses from exhaustion. by Poly » Sat Feb 16, 2013 1:17 pm, #15 When you play it you can actually feel the emotions and passion through the dialog. Also I cannot wait for the 'GOW' reboot coming this year in 2018. A few decades ago, the idea of making money simply by playing video games was a pipe dream. Homeward doesn’t try to break any new grounds with its storytelling. Overall, the developer felt the serious yet unnecessary need to add in random twists, cliches, and contrivances, all of which caused the stories to derail in terms of pacing and atmosphere.
(Extended for 2020.) The interface looks very nice, I have only minor complaints. As much as suicide saddens me, I might even go so far as to say that even if they were to attempt it, it would maybe wake the parents up and have them realize they need to consider the feelings and well being of their children before it's too late. by Samu-kun » Mon Sep 03, 2012 6:38 pm, #2 Post share. Scenes with background animations (snow/rain/camera pan) have an unfortunate tendency to stutter when a new sprite is shown.
If you can get into the humor and/or live with the largely groan-worthy second act, Homeward is an attractive looking title with a good amount of content (6~8 hours). I often tell myself to go easier on free games when reviewing them, but then I come across something like Love In Space's visual novel .css-u6hpqs-Italic{font-style:italic;}Homeward and think, "Well I can't give this a free pass, because I can think of at least one other free VN released at the same time period that did a much better job telling its story in every way.". The secret to this is to focus. Not really checking the forums any more due to time constraints, so if you want to contact me, PM. Nonami is a goofy, always energetic Kendo club member. When mom becomes hospitalized, they return to Japan and Sora moves in with them. by redeyesblackpanda » Tue Sep 04, 2012 3:10 am, #5 Save my name, email, and website in this browser for the next time I comment. The second act begins with a dramatic twist (Riku has to move back to America) that’s the base conflict for each of the character routes. im with you on that one i wasnt exilerated with the ending in my head i was like “we got to her first so why?”, 3 years later i come back and look at this, young me was very silly. Maybe you should have told that earlier you damn moron! However, the video has interlacing artifacts and every second or so skips several frames. Post But yeah, I didn’t like Nonami and Haruka’s routes mostly because Riku is a fucking douche in both. I have beaten all the main games, but honestly I only own 1-3 at the moment. There’s also a tendency to use the Japanese versions of huh/hey/uhm, and such remarks. XD, I mean, in the OneStory version, when Riku tolds Nonami, Oh right, that scene. by Kato » Tue Jan 29, 2013 8:32 am, #14 It was all just plain awkward. This game contains only a single character arc from Homeward with the adult content removed. I just think not having a fully realized family dynamic in this route was a wasted opportunity (you only ever see the father in Nonami's route, for heaven's sakes), especially when Riku's entire fate — and by extension, Sora's — was dictated by their parents. These often feel too heavy for the accompanying scene, weakening their impact when they are needed. Don’t forget about all the time the viewer is faked out by all of these little meaningless scenes. There are several really good quotes in this VN about accepting your fate while also cherishing the memories you have with people who you find that truly care about you, and who will always remember you no matter where you go and what you do with your life. What a joke. I blame life.). NaNoRenO ends when April begins. In a way, they were both missing familial, romantic and — for a time, in their minds — friendship love, so they were trying to be all these things for each other.
