Team Bondi may have been shot three days before retirement, but its spirit lives on.
Talking Point: What Free October 2020 PS Plus Games Are You Hoping For? The VR Case Files, though technically well-adapted to the platform, is a novelty, a carnival rendition of a game I hold a huge amount of personal respect for. Eurogamer's Digital Foundry might have done something on it though, so I'd check there, @Anchorsam_9 that sucks, the VR stuff sounds great from what I've heard, it was never clear if it was going to be on PS4 . The cases are so absorbing that I’m losing track of time while playing it. Despite the seedy underbelly and the crime-ridden nature of the city as it’s presented in the game, it’s still hard not to be wowed by the vibrant vistas at sunset and the glowing neon signs at night. @Anchorsam_9 are you playing in 4K? Columbo is one of my guilty pleasures and I suspect this is the closest I'll ever get to a game of that, I just find it all very intriguing and really like how differently the cases can play out. It makes them much less frustrating as well as helping them flow a bit better. There's nothing like tailing a car in a massive firetruck.

Was one of my bigger disappointments last gen (nothing will ever really out-do FFXIII in that regard).
Newly remastered by Rockstar, the detective thriller is as confounding and cool as it was back in 2011, with a new lick of paint adding even more beauty to the lovingly rendered postwar California setting. In fact, the only thing that’s disappointing visually are the textures - particularly in daytime.
Its LA Noire in VR. @Mergatro1d Hmm, I haven't noticed that since I haven't played it using headphones yet. ... PS4 … If you didn’t play the original, you’d think this is a masterpiece. Sunlight filters through the cracks of the briefing room’s blinds, illuminating the dust, while the cracks of light that seep through the windows of the interrogation rooms only serve to make said interrogations more dramatic. If so, how does it come across in black and white?
But Rockstar’s done a great job of retooling it to make LA Noire: The VR Case Files feel less like a port and more like something that was always meant to be played this way, and the effort shows. @Bad-MuthaAdebisi Sadly not, the VR stuff is in a separate game coming out next month that's currently only releasing for the HTC Vive. The paper trail that the Black Dahlia serial killer sends you on is a great example of this: while you interpret poems that the killer has left behind and clamber up some of LA’s landmarks, your partner Rusty Galloway sits back and enjoys a smoke. The only complaint about these scenes is that they occasionally cut to the next too quickly, lessening the dramatic effect. (Note that it does work fine on Oculus Rift, but only if you use the homebrew fix to bypass the hardware check.).
I’ll get this eventually, I wanted to try this back on 360/PS3 but never did. @hi_drnick No, since I don't have a PS4 Pro I've only been playing in 1080p so I can't say what it's like. Generally favorable reviews
One of the best detective games of all time, L.A. Noire on PS4 will certainly give you bang for your buck thanks to its improved graphical prowess and neat package containing all of the original’s content. Definitely pick this up at some point, @Bluetrain7 I've definitely played it in sessions longer than I care to admit, @mookysam Yeah, the new labels for interrogations are more fitting definitely. A satisfying story, interesting gameplay, fresh and innovative for the time gameplay mechanics and a great setting make this a must-play for fans of the 3rd person open world …
