"This trail from Ashland to the Mason-Dixon Line is a beautiful, scenic trail. Adequate facilities and parking areas spread out along the full 21 miles. The restored 1898 Monkton Train Station is now a museum and gift shop and also houses a park ranger station. On the way back, most of the mud had dried, so we flew downhill. Contact the business for more information about recent service changes. Pretty cool to pass over the line and then cross into another state. Lots of parking here. I put it in the back of the Rogue and took off. We ended up driving someplace else to kill time til the parking lot died down. I rolled over the bridge and onto the trail. After killing time, we ended up getting there at 2:30 to eat at the little cafe. The trail had some big puddles and some muddy patches to traverse.
For starters the parking lot is awfully tiny!
The river itself was very chill, scenic, natural, and had a couple rapids.

The trail follows the Gunpowder River upstream. Bob exited at Parkton, which had a very cool stone bridge and a former bank that had been turned into a private residence. Joe Flood is a writer, photographer and web person from Washington, DC.
Parking restrictions meant that I had to park a couple blocks away, on a side street. But, by then, I was really close to the Mason-Dixon Line, so I kept going for the photo-op.
