The Museum of the American Railroad features one of the nation's most extensive and significant collections of items from the Atchison, Topeka & Santa Fe Railway. The Santa Fe railroad was ultimately merged into the Burlington Northern Santa Fe Railroad in 1995. Featured below are key pieces of rolling stock in the Museum’s Historic Santa Fe Collection. Four historically significant diesel locomotives have finally arrived at their permanent home at the Museum of the American Railroad, three of which came from the Santa Fe Railway’s historic collection. The Frisco site is currently under construction and access to the locomotive and rolling stock collection is limited to scheduled tours.
